The Stone Arch Bridge Minneapolis
Painted on location at Father Hennepin Park, Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States of America.
From Father Hennepin Park to Gold Medal Park, the stone arch bridge is a notable landmark, and a great stroll (or electric scooter!) across the Mississippi River with a great view of the city.
On August 18, 2020 I made an effort to enjoy the summer despite so many activities being cancelled due to Covid-19. My housemate RJ and I, and his dog Malcolm went to one of my favorite Minneapolis parks to enjoy nature. RJ and Malcolm patiently put up with me dragging them along a path… that used to be in use and now was more of a trail with broken wooden steps, looking for the view I had seen many years before.
Although I didn’t sit down by the river to paint, and didn’t actually get a good photo to work from I got the idea, and parked myself at a park bench near fellow summer baskers for a few hours to do this painting.
Watercolour painting, 16โณ x 20โณ on stretched canvas, protected with varnish.
